Every year students readily partake in Travel Trade Shows in Poland and abroad.

In the tri-city area (which includes Gdansk, Gdynia and Sopot), the Gdansk Tourist Trade Fair takes place every year.  HSTHI, along with other tourism institutions of higher education and colleges in Poland, hold showcases to connect with all those who attend. Our students proudly represent HSTHI during the several day event.

The International Tourism Fair ITB in Berlin is the largest travel trade show in the world. Every year in March, HSTHI students and faculty take part in this notable event. Trade visitors represent all areas of the international travel and tourism industry including cities, regions, organizations and businesses. The exhibitors come not only from Europe, but from all over the world. At ITB 2004, Poland's exhibit was awarded first place in the European section.

During this time, students also get the chance to meet with representatives of the Polish Tourism Information Centre in Berlin, so as to become familiar with the activity of this establishment. Last but not least, no trip would be complete without a little sightseeing.

The distinction of the ITB as the worldwide leader of all travel trade shows is acknowledged in HSTHI's curriculum by encouraging students to keep up-to-date with the event.  In addition, participation in the ITB in Berlin may be counted as one week out of the 3-month internship that students are required to complete before graduation.

The variety of travel shows corresponds with all sectors of the tourism industry. Travel trade shows feature business meetings, seminars and also press conferences. Hence, students who attend are given a wonderful opportunity to learn about various offers, to get to know the market and be better able to anticipate trends in tourism.
